ABOUT Flyhalf Knives
About Me:
My name is Charlie Parod. I retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 40 years of service in 2012. I was trained as a machinist and held many positions on the manufacturing side of the large earthmoving equipment business. I have been making custom knives in my home shop for the past 5 years or so. During that time I have made everything from Scottish Dirks, Tomahawks, Buffalo Skinners, Damascus Steel Bowies, and Pocket/Lockback Knives. l am constantly trying to improve my knife making and leatherworking skills.

About Flyhalf Knives:
I have hesitated turning my hobby into a business because I don't want it to become too much like work. I came up with the name "Flyhalf Knives" to give recognition to one of the positions I played in a sport that I truly love, Rugby. I have been active in Rugby for almost 40 years as a Player, Coach, and supporter.

Flyhalf Knives is a one man operation. I purchases affordable well made fixed blade knife blanks and pocket knife making kits. From these I design, craft, and assemble the handles and bolsters to create knives that are beautiful, functional, and affordable. I also design and make custom leather sheaths for fixed blade knives and pocket knives if desired.

On my products page you will find what I currently have available. If you don't see it, I have not made it yet! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have a special request or would like a custom made knife. I will do my best to accommodate you.
